She Starts To Sing An Ancient Viking Song, Now Watch How The Cows Respond.

She Starts To Sing An Ancient Viking Song...

Kulning

It’s often said that a lot of the things our ancestors did and said somehow gets stored into our DNA. That somehow their experience and knowledge gets passed down from generation to generation and there are some things we innately know. This may be an explanation as to why we know or react to certain things without having any prior knowledge them.

Kulning is an ancient herding call mainly used in the Scandinavian region. This is call is in a high pitch tone that can travel long distances. As it echos through the mountains and valleys, this herding cry is sounds haunting and like a beautiful sad melody.

On a late foggy night, last month, Swedish artist Jonna Jinton decided to try kulning. She wanted to doscover if the animals would respond to the call their own ancestors heard when the women called them. Kulning may very well be one of the most beautiful and enchanting sounds ever made.
